Goodbye 2024, Hello Brave New World. December Studio Update

hi!

In the post-Christmas week, it sometimes feels easy to get lost. It's the kind of week that invites reflection, and contemplation, and possibly judgement.

Mind wanders to questions like:

  • What just happened?
  • Did I accomplish anything of meaning?
  • Did I grow?
  • Did I regress?
  • How do I ditch what's no longer working, and find a way forward that feels right?

If you are also asking these kinds of questions, consider joining the 5 Day End of Year Journaling Challenge.

It's a great week to take in some art. I just returned from Charleston where I had a nice family holiday, and spent an entire day taking in the art galleries. Sometimes we need to just hit pause on our own creative process, and be an observer. This is how I often get my best ideas.

Even though I'm slowing down for the next few weeks to review and refocus, here are a few opportunities coming up for you to take in some art.

Current and Upcoming Exhibits:

Bye-Bye Fine Art Prints

After some realist reflection, I decided to close the online print shop. This was a work of love created with my husband, but it hasn't taken root, and it requires a LOT of time and energy to maintain it. Some say that fine art prints are a distraction from making originals, and this is where we want to focus. So prints will not be available after December 31. If you'd like one, you can still order one for the next few days.

Interview with Canvas Rebel

I recently did an interview with the online publication, Canvas Rebel, about my creative journey. You can read that here.

I feel lots of changes coming.

Wishing you bravery, peace and magic in the new year.

Kim

ps. Registration for the 5 Day End of Year Journaling Challenge is open for 3 more days. This is a self-guided program that will help you get clarity on your yearly intentions.

The Yearly Roundup A look back at the exhibits and workshops of 2024 and the art of essentialism. It's a strange start to a new year. Usually, in January, I'm fired up and ready to dive into new inspired projects. But I find myself this year feeling lukewarm about starting anything new. I am not inclined to get involved in new projects or start new routines. I'm focused on letting go of what's inessential. I just finished reading the book Essentialism, by Greg McKeown. I highly recommend it...

hi! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out to express how grateful I am for your continued support for my work and to share a special opportunity with you. My work has evolved dramatically over the past few years, and I know sometimes it may seem confusing. Am I an artist making art? Am I a meditation teacher sharing guided meditations? Am I a writer writing books? Am I a creative sharing creative practices? The answer is yes. I do all of those things. I share the practices...
